Dead spots in the back bedroom, video calls that drop on the balcony, a smart TV that buffers while the living room is fine. In a concrete tower that's normal, and it's fixable. Every room gets tested before I leave.
Three things work against you here, and none of them are your fault:
Concrete and steel. Miami towers are built to survive hurricanes, which means reinforced concrete floors and structural walls. Wi-Fi was designed to pass through drywall. A signal that would cover a whole house barely makes it two rooms in a condo.
Hundreds of neighbours. Stand in a Brickell apartment and scan for networks and you'll often see 80 or more. Every one of them competes for the same handful of channels. Your router isn't weak, it's shouting in a crowded room.
The router you were given. Whatever your provider or building supplied is sized for the cheapest scenario that works, and it's usually parked wherever the cable outlet happens to be: behind the TV, in a media cabinet, in a closet. All three are terrible places for a radio.
The result is the same everywhere: strong signal in one room, nothing useful three walls away. No amount of rebooting changes it, because rebooting doesn't move walls.

Hardware is separate and supplied at cost. I don't mark up equipment. I'd rather you spend the money on the right mesh than on my margin. A typical one-bedroom needs $150 to $250 of hardware; you approve the exact cost before I order anything, and you're welcome to buy it yourself.
A lot of Brickell towers include internet in the HOA fee through a bulk contract, commonly with Hotwire. That's usually decent bandwidth arriving at the unit, let down by the small router they install inside it.
You don't have to accept that. In most cases your own mesh can sit behind the building's equipment and take over the Wi-Fi, giving you proper coverage and control while keeping the included service. I'll tell you which arrangement your building allows before you buy anything.

Reinforced concrete blocks the signal, and you're competing with dozens of neighbouring networks on the same channels. It's a coverage problem, not a speed problem, which is why paying for a faster plan rarely helps.
No. Upgrading your plan makes the pipe into the building bigger. If the signal can't reach the bedroom, a bigger pipe changes nothing. Save the monthly increase and fix the coverage.
Studio or one bedroom, a single good router is often enough. Two bedrooms or more in concrete, mesh nearly always wins. I'll tell you honestly rather than sell you nodes you don't need.
Depends on the unit, and I stay brand-neutral because I don't earn anything on hardware. Eero, TP-Link Deco and Amazon's newer systems all work well in condos. What matters far more is how many nodes and where they go.
Usually yes, and sometimes that's the right call. Other times the better answer is your own mesh behind theirs. I'll check what your building permits first.
